This is a facinating book for anyone studying the history of Paris in the early twentieth century.Well illustrated with numerous clear photographs, it appears to have been written as a guide for the traveller with plentiful information on the commercial establishments of the day: hotels, restaurants, shops and couturiers. It also contains historical information about many of the buildings, as well as anecdotes which may or may not be fanciful! As with most works the information contained needs verifying.
